Clinical Team Lead
Location: Co-Located Bray and Arklow Centres
osee our liThis role is a minimum of 25 hours per week, where you will be leading a core staff team of 4 counselling coordinators. These coordinators support and mentor a volunteer team of between 85 and 90 volunteer counsellors, who are in all stages of learning and accreditation.
You will also be responsible for supporting review of intake assessments, placements and waiting lists.
You will work closely with the Clinical Manager and COO, ensuring we continue our vision and mission.

Job Title: Clinical Team Lead

Hours: Part Time 3 days: 25 hours per week with an opportunity for full time
About Us:
Living Life Counselling (LLC) is a voluntary organisation providing essential counselling services for low-income individuals since 1996. We operate centres in Bray and Arklow, offering support for issues such as bereavement, stress, depression, separation, suicide, and the impacts of addiction. Our services are delivered by volunteer counsellors dedicated to making a difference.
Job Purpose:
As the Clinical Team Lead, you will bring specialist expertise to the position in LLC as a leading counselling provider. You will enhance our counselling model and ensure top-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the COO on centre development and strategic direction.
Clinical Leadership:
- Guide the counselling coordinator team and refine our counselling model in Bray and Arklow.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure clinical services meet agreed quality standards and recommend continuous improvements.
Recruitment:
- Assist in recruiting counsellors, focusing on competencies and candidate assessment.
Governance:
- Ensure robust governance frameworks, adhering to statutory obligations, ethical standards, and best practices.
- Support the COO in the continuous review and updating of policies and procedures.
- Lead the Ethics Subcommittee, keeping up to date on research and governance changes.
Volunteer Welfare:
- Manage students on placements and provide mentoring support and direction.
- Implement regular volunteer reviews, support, and mentoring.
- Ensure volunteers understand agency policies and practices.
- Identify training needs and develop/deliver relevant programs using various educational tools and platforms.
Promoting the Service:
- Network with local agencies, GPs, and healthcare providers.
- Build a strong volunteer base by engaging with colleges and professionals in the field.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Senior management experience with a track record of developing and providing innovative counselling services, preferably in the voluntary sector.
- Clinical Supervisory experience
Qualifications:
- Practicing clinical supervisor with a degree/equivalent in a clinical counselling field, fully accredited with IACP, IAHIP, ICP, PSI or equivalent.
Skills:
- Expertise in best practices for delivering counselling services, strong empathy with LLC’s values, ethos, and mission.
- Ability to match and place clients with suitable volunteer counsellors.
- Ability to resolve items that may arise in relation to the services provided.

Volunteer Counsellors
Location: Bray or Arklow
Support our organisation with general counselling supports.
We have a mix of volunteers who are accredited, qualified and students who give a minimum of 3 hours per week.

A portion of our volunteers are students; however our capacity to support applicants in this category is limited. Before commencing with Living Life Counselling, student candidates must provide a letter from their training body confirming their readiness for the work and the presence of insurance cover.
