Making an Appointment

Counselling appointment Ireland

Here at Living Life Counselling we believe in making access to our services as easy as possible for a client. If you wish to make an appointment with us, please follow the simple steps below.

  • Step 1

All clients over 18 years of age must personally phone our centre to make their appointment. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor you may call on their behalf. We are always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about counselling so please feel free to call us. With many years experience in the professional counselling field all staff at Living Life Counselling appreciate that taking the first step and picking up the phone to ring us can be very difficult. It is our goal to ensure that we make this experience a positive one for you. Our Bray centre is wheelchair accessible. For counselling services in both our Bray and Arklow centres, please call: +353 1 286 6729.

  • Step 2

When you call we will take your details and schedule an initial appointment for a date and time that best suits your availability.

  • Step 3

You will receive an email after your initial phone call, confirming the date and time of your appointment and other information such as our confidentiality policy and client agreement form, which can be found here: Client Agreement.

  • Step 4

Your initial appointment usually lasts 45 minutes. This is not a counselling session but rather an opportunity to explore if counselling is the correct option for you at this time in your life. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have on the process and explore some of the reasons you wish to commence counselling. If after this first meeting you decide not to go ahead with counselling this is not a problem, there is no commitment to attend counselling at this stage in the process.

  • Step 5

Once you have been matched with a counsellor, we will provide you with all the relevant details necessary for your first counselling session. Please note clients are offered a weekly appointment for up to six months. Your session will be at the same time on the same day each week for 50 minutes.

Cost

Donations Counselling IrelandLiving Life Counselling offers affordable counselling services for people who are unemployed, in receipt of social welfare benefits or on a low income. As we are a donation led service, we ask clients to make a weekly donation. The donation amount is typically €30 for your initial appointment, at which you will meet with one of our co-ordinators to discuss what has led you to counselling at this time.

During this initial appointment, you can agree your weekly donation amount. We ask that you donate an amount you can comfortably afford, that will not make your ability to live difficult. If at any point your financial situation changes and you feel you can donate more or less, this can be discussed with your assigned counsellor. Typically, clients donate between €10 and €30 weekly. If you feel a weekly donation would not be possible a bursary may be made available. Please speak with one of our co-ordinators at your initial appointment to discuss this option further.
